Talks
Khudi organises regular talks as a way to spread the movement’s message across Pakistanis cities. Sometimes these talks take place as part of events organised by other youth groups, NGOs or civil society members.
May 15, 2012: Khudi organized a seminar on the topic ‘Muslims and the Modern World: The State of Muslim Ummah’. Pervez Hoodhbhoy, Moiz Amjad and Maajid Nawaz discussed the problems of modern interpretation of the religion, intellectual downfall of the Muslims and the viability of modern democratic institutions in Muslim societies.

May 10, 2012: Khudi organised a Policy Dialogue on Pakistan’s Counter-Terrorism Strategy to underscore the importance of a national counter-terrorism strategy. The panelists were Lt General (r) Talat Masood, Khudi founder Maajid Nawaz, PIPS Director Muhammad Amir Rana, the head of NACTA Khawaja Khalid Farooq (former IG Punjab Police) and former Council of Islamic Ideology Dr Khalid Masud.

March 11, 2012: Khudi Pakistan has launched “Balochistan Dialogues” — a platform to engage youth from Balochistan in constructive dialogue, and to make their voices heard by young people from across our country. The first dialogue was held in Islamabad on March 11, 2012. A large number of youth from Balochistan participated in the dialogue.

January 2012: Imran Khan and Syed Ali Abbas Zaidi of Khudi gave a talk to Pakistani alumni of US State Department programme UGRAD. The topic were: Counter-Radicalizations: Engaging Online Communities and the importance of activism.

November 2011: Khudi founder Maajid Nawaz spoke at a youth conference in Kano, Nigeria on the theme of Islam, Peacebuilding and Political Engagement. The event was organized by Bayero University, the British Council (Kano) and the British High Commission (Abuja), and was attended by academics, theologians, activists and eminent dignitaries, including the former President of Nigeria. Maajid shared Khudi’s work and vision with Nigerian youth, and discussed with them the possibilities for youth activism in Nigeria.

13 August 2011: Khudi organized a special discussion on the eve of 14 August on ‘Pakistan & Winds of Change’. Speakers including Dr. Daanish Mustafa, Mushtaq Gaadi & Aalia Amirali spoke about the need and prospects of change in concept of identity, foreign policy & political institutions.

7th July 2011: ‘Between Dictatorship and Extremsim: Lessons from Arab Spring’ was organized by Khudi in FC College Lahore. One of the leaders of Egyptian revolution Ramy Elswissy and Raza Naeem, a Pakistani academic/activist with extensive research on Middle East shared their experiences and perspectives, followed by lively Q&A session.
